This Privacy Policy explains how BattleBid collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the Service, submit a listing, complete a rank purchase, use a Battle Token, or open a listed destination. It should be read with the Terms of Service.

Information BattleBid processes
BattleBid may process:
- the website URL, app-store page, or public social profile you submit;
- normalized listing identity, public name, title, description, logo or platform icon, and destination metadata;
- bid amount, paid position, podium history, HP, Battle Token status, attacks, damage, and timestamps;
- checkout status, amount, currency, and payment-provider product, checkout, and payment references needed to verify and fulfill an anonymous one-time purchase;
- the listing and time associated with an outbound click;
- aggregate site-usage information from configured analytics; and
- technical request and diagnostic information processed by BattleBid's hosting and infrastructure providers for security, fraud prevention, debugging, and operation.
BattleBid does not require a user account for a rank purchase. Do not submit private information or a destination you are not authorized to promote.
How information is used
BattleBid uses information to:
- validate, normalize, enrich, and display public listings;
- order paid ranks and preserve each listing's current paid fallback;
- create and verify checkout intents and completed purchases;
- issue, secure, and resolve Battle Tokens, attacks, podium reigns, and HP;
- count outbound clicks and display aggregate traffic or click statistics;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unsafe destinations, and unauthorized payment-return access;
- troubleshoot, secure, maintain, and improve the Service; and
- comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, these uses rely as applicable on performing a contract or taking steps you request before a purchase, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the public leaderboard, and legal obligations. Public metadata is processed to identify the destination submitted for promotion.
Public leaderboard and battle history
Completed listing, ranking, and battle information is public. It can include the submitted destination, public name, description, logo or icon, bid-derived position, podium reigns, HP, attacks, damage, timestamps, and aggregate click count. Other people and search engines may view, copy, or index this information.
Removing a destination from its original platform does not automatically remove BattleBid history. Contact us if a listing should be reviewed or removed.
Payments
BattleBid uses Dodo Payments to process one-time purchases. Payment-card details and billing information are entered with Dodo Payments, not BattleBid. BattleBid stores the checkout and payment references, amount, currency, status, and related listing information needed to reconcile a verified payment and fulfill the purchase. Dodo Payments handles payment information under its own terms and privacy notice.
Public metadata, AI, and asset storage
BattleBid may retrieve public metadata after validating that a submitted destination is publicly reachable. When configured, Google Gemini URL Context may receive the validated public URL and return concise listing metadata. This enrichment is best-effort and does not replace the submitted listing identity.
Public logos, favicons, and similar listing assets may be fetched and copied to configured S3-compatible storage so they can be displayed reliably. Social and app-store listings may instead use bundled platform icons.
Analytics and click counts
When its browser measurement ID is configured, BattleBid loads Google Analytics 4 automatically. Google Analytics may process page views, approximate location, device or browser information, referrers, IP-derived information, and analytics identifiers to provide usage statistics. BattleBid does not provide an in-product analytics consent banner or opt-out. For information about Google's processing and controls, see Google's privacy policy.
BattleBid reads aggregate Google Analytics reports for sessions since the configured launch date and, when enabled for public display, recent active users. The reports are shown as aggregate traffic counts and are not copied into a BattleBid visitor-profile database. Google Analytics metrics are estimates.
When someone follows a listing, BattleBid records the listing and click time and updates public aggregate click counts. BattleBid's click-event record does not contain a visitor identifier or IP address, although infrastructure providers may process ordinary request data in their logs.
Cookies and browser storage
BattleBid may use:
- a locale cookie named
NEXT_LOCALEto remember language selection; - a short-lived HttpOnly cookie named
battlebit_checkout_returnto reconcile a payment-provider return with server-verified checkout state; and - browser storage used by the theme provider to remember appearance preferences.
The checkout-return cookie expires after up to one hour. It is a limited capability, not a user account and not proof of payment by itself. Google Analytics, Dodo Payments, and other providers may set their own cookies or similar identifiers under their policies.
Sharing and service providers
BattleBid may share or make information available to providers only as needed to operate the Service, including:
- Dodo Payments for checkout and payment verification;
- Google Analytics for configured traffic measurement;
- Google Gemini for optional public-URL metadata enrichment;
- hosting, PostgreSQL database, edge, logging, and S3-compatible storage providers; and
- professional advisers, authorities, or a successor operator when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, resolve disputes, or transfer the Service.
BattleBid does not sell personal information. Providers may process information in other countries under safeguards made available by those providers and applicable law.
Retention and security
Public listing, ranking, click-count, and battle records may be retained while needed to operate the leaderboard, preserve its history, and enforce paid fallback rights. Checkout and payment-verification records may be retained for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargebacks, disputes, and other legal obligations. Security and diagnostic records are retained only as reasonably needed for those purposes.
BattleBid uses reasonable safeguards, including hashed checkout-return capabilities and server-side payment verification, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Email contact@battlebid.com to make a request. We may need enough information to locate and verify the relevant records.
Some public leaderboard history, payment records, fraud-prevention information, backups, and information needed for legal claims may need to be retained. Google and Dodo Payments provide their own privacy controls for information they process directly.
Children
The Service is intended for adults. BattleBid does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted information to the Service.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the Service, its providers, or applicable law changes. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
